Ten years ago, in an article for the Law Society for Ireland Gazette, I wrote this: “Lawyers operate and work within the context of complex human situations – predominantly situations of conflict and stress – and attempt to apply a body of external laws, rules and practices to resolve those situations and conflicts. This is within a framework of time, financial and other external pressures. Little is done to educate and train lawyers – whose work tends to focus on the external and to rely on ‘thinking’, ‘judging’ and ‘action’ – about the equal value and benefits of focusing on the internal, and relying on ‘not thinking’, ‘not judging’ and ‘not acting’.”

This core idea of acknowledging and making visible within our governance and laws our inner experience – the longings and knowing of the body, the feelings of the heart, the intuition of the soul – remains the same, and is at the centre of my calling and vocation.

Over these ten years, it has though evolved and deepened – both through my own devotion to the journey of embodiment, and through extraordinary teachings on ancient feminine wisdom – into the knowing that what is slowly underway is the restoration of the entire field of Law and Justice to its original place as a natural, deeply feminine, art and practice. This is happening through the collective process of learning to listen again, and surrender to, the experiential knowing and wisdom of our bodies as they move us to shed and release old patterns, and rebirth an entirely new way of being in the world.
